I am lucky for really great friends. My 50th birthday is just not my idea of how I want to spend my day. 50 is not a number that feels like how old I really am. It is just plain weird. Anyway, my friend Lorie arranged a group of ladies and we went to lunch at Market Street Grill. I should have taken a picture but it was Heather, Lorie, Jan, Debbie, Lanae and Susan. I had the amazing crab and avocado sandwich. It is so yummy. Anyway, on our way in this guy gave us a handful of coupons for free shrimp cocktail and key lime pie. So we had that too. We had this waitress who at first was very abrupt and seemed irritated with us (and we hadn't done anything irritating yet - really) but after a few minutes somebody got her talking and she was from NYC. No wonder she seemed abrupt. She was great and it was definitely the highlight of my day. Thank you girls! Ray took the above picture of me and Roman so I can remember what I looked like at 50. I know it is not the DeRoses, I just can't figure out how to edit it to give it a caption. I will get better at this. Only my first week and I have changed the layout and background and added a picture. I am proud.
